Mission

The mission of the Student Health and Well-Being (SHW) cluster is to promote a culture of health and well-being for the student community, deliver equitable high quality innovative services, incorporate inclusive approaches, and celebrate diversity, with the goal of adoption and maintenance of healthy behaviors contributing to the academic success and personal development of all students.

Student Health Services

Student Health Services (SHS) offers a comprehensive range of quality medical services tailored to meet the diverse needs of the student community. Supported by a team of dedicated professionals, SHS provides primary care, urgent care, reproductive health, sports medicine, gender-affirming care, nutrition counseling, behavioral health and travel clinic services. With convenient on-campus resources like laboratory testing, optometry, pharmacy and X-rays, students can easily access the care they need so they can focus on thriving academically and personally.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) takes a student-centered approach to comprehensive mental health support, offering counseling, workshops, community forums, outreach programs and consultation services. With a focus on culturally responsive, trauma-informed care, CAPS staff help students navigate difficult times and manage challenges that could affect their mental health, wellbeing, personal development and academic achievement. Whether in-person or virtual, free and confidential resources—including individual and group counseling, psychiatry services, psychological testing, and 24/7 crisis support—are available to help students flourish during their time on campus and beyond.

Health Promotion Services

Health Promotion Services (HPS) empowers students to develop healthy habits through education, events and supportive services. With resources on mental well-being, substance use, sexual health, nutrition and more, HPS coaches students to develop the skills to cultivate lifelong health and well-being. Specialized programs include the Collegiate Recovery Program for behavioral change support and STRIDE program for gender-affirming care. Students can also unwind, study and de-stress at The Zone, a campus lounge designed to promote balanced, healthy living.

Student Health and Well-Being Administration

Administrative & Business Operations (ADM) ensures the smooth operation of the SHW cluster by managing student insurance and medical records while also providing business, financial, and human resources support. The department includes IT, facilities and space management, providing essential infrastructure that enables the cluster to deliver comprehensive health and well-being services. Additionally, ADM supports the Executive Director’s office, Credentialing and Staff Services.
